NORFOLK, Va. (WAVY) — The Foodbank of Southeastern Virginia and the Eastern Shore and Sentara partnered to open a new location in Norfolk to help provide various services.
The Community Feed at Berkley is located at 701 S. Main St. That location was selected to allow individuals the ability to receive health related services and fresh food in close proximity to each other. It is next to the Sentara Community Care Center.
A ribbon-cutting ceremony was held on Tuesday, Feb. 27.
The goal is to combine health and nutrition for individuals who need the services.
“It is designed to resemble a small grocery store where individuals can choose the items that best suit their dietary needs, offering a dignified experience for our neighbors.” a release from the Foodbank states.
