NEWPORT NEWS, Va. (WAVY) – A Hampton woman is accused of hitting another woman and spitting on a police officer.
Police charged 21-year-old Jada Major with assault on a law enforcement officer, among other charges.
Officers responded to Dewald Circle off Warwick Boulevard early Sunday morning for a report of someone with a weapon. That’s where they found Major.
While officers were trying to take her statement, police say she got into a fight with another woman, yelling at her and then punching her in the face.
Officers eventually took Major into custody.
Upon further investigation, they determined she had broken the windows of a car.
Major was taken to the hospital with minor injuries. While there, police say she spit on an officer’s neck and uniform.
After she was released from the hospital, Major was booked on the charges.
