HAMPTON, Va. (WAVY) — Pat. G. Minetti, who served nearly three decades as the chief of police in Hampton, has died, the Hampton Police Division announced Monday night.
Minetti joined the force back in 1955 and served for 45 years, including 29 as the chief of police. He retired in 2000.
“There are no words that can truly express the positive impact that Chief Minetti had on this community and this agency, so for now, we’ll just say thank you,” the Hampton Police Division said in Facebook post Monday night.
The division named its headquarters in honor of Minetti back in 2013.
