Deputies in Northampton Co. arrest two after drug bust

NORTHAMPTON COUNTY, N.C. (WAVY) – Two people have been arrested after deputies found heroin in a home during the execution of a search warrant. 

Northampton County Sheriff officials say on October 4, the Down East Drug Task Force, the Jackson Police Department, the Roanoke Rapids Police Department and the State Bureau of Investigation executed a search warrant at a home on Springfield Lane in Woodland.

Authorities found nearly 77 bindles of heroin in the home during the search. 

Officials charged 39-year-old Rodney Tierre Vaughan, Jr., of Woodland, with felony possession of heroin, felony possession with intent to sell and deliver heroin and felony maintaining a dwelling vehicle place. He received a $20,000 secured bond. 

20-year-old Shannon Brooke Brady, of Ahoskie, was also arrested and charged with felony possession of heroin after agents seized an unspecified amount of heroin from her purse.
