New disturbing details in sex charges against Churchland HS teacher

PORTSMOUTH, Va. (WAVY) — A Churchland High School math teacher had sexual relationships with two students in 2015, according to court documents outlining the charges against him.

Much of what allegedly happened at the school and at other locations beginning about 10 years ago is too graphic to share.

But one victim, whom we will call Victim A, described on her Facebook page late last year how Jarvis Green, who was 24-years-old, allegedly abused her at school and at his home. According to court documents, Green would encourage her to accompany him to the back of the class because there was a cabinet that Green would use to hide the fact that he was receiving a sex act from Victim A.

The document states that there was another incident when she was taken to Green’s home in Portsmouth, where they engaged in sexual activity. The victim was then asked to have sex with another individual whose name she could not recall. Victim A added the math instructor would teach her the best ways to have sex.

Court documents also reveal there is a second victim we will call Victim B. She told investigators Green would pick her up from her home in Portsmouth, and the two would go to his home in Suffolk, where they would engage in sexual intercourse. Victim B also said Green offered to pay her money so that it would give her parents the illusion that the child was tutoring other students.

Green faces two counts of consensual sex with a child, two counts of custodian intercourse/sodomy, and two counts of sodomy by force threat or intimidation.

10 On Your Side’s Regina Mobley spoke with Victim B by phone on Friday. The young woman said she is doing well and she is gainfully employed. We also reached out to victim A, who apparently lives on a college campus outside Hampton Roads.

Green is on administrative leave after working with the school system, largely as a teacher, since 2015. He was released on $6,000 bond, and he’s due in court Jan. 31. 10 On Your Side has also contacted Portsmouth Police to determine whether a second suspect is under investigation.
