HAMPTON, Va. (WAVY) – A man has been arrested in connection with a May 4 shooting at a Hampton Restaurant.

Police were dispatched to Coasters Beach Grill just before midnight on May 4 for reports of gunshots.
Officers arrived to the scene and found a man, an employee of the business, suffering from life-threatening gunshot wounds.
According to the owner of the restaurant, after a customer didn’t pay his bill, one of their security guards followed him outside and across the street, then shots were fired.
45-year-old Maurice Dontai Hill was taken into custody without incident on May 24 and charged with maiming, use of a firearm in a felony, possession of a firearm by a felon, shooting a firearm in public and shooting within city limits in connection with the incident.
