WINDSOR, N.C. (WNCT) — The Bertie County Sheriff’s Office is investigating two separate shootings that happened less than a week apart.

The first shooting happened on March 31. Deputies responded to 3932 Governors Road and found Alliterrick Harrell, 22, with multiple gunshot wounds. He was taken to ECU Health Medical Center in Greenville. He was listed in critical condition as of Wednesday evening.

The second shooting happened on April 2. Deputies responded just after 7 p.m. to an area of Sycamore Street and Main Street in Aulander. When they arrived, they found out the suspect’s vehicle was seen heading toward Northampton County. The victim was later identified at ECU Health Roanoke Chowan Hospital with a gunshot wound to the head.

During an investigation into that shooting, it was discovered there was a second victim, a 15-year-old. The suspected vehicle was located by the Ahoskie Police Department and the Hertford County Sheriff’s Office. Two guns and marijuana were found. Two teens were also in that vehicle. Their status and if they were facing charges were not indicated.

The second victim was expected to recover. An investigation into both shootings continued Wednesday night.
