VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. (WAVY) — A teenager was shot and killed Tuesday night in a Virginia Beach neighborhood, police say.
The victim was 17-year-old Christopher Ross, who played football at Ocean Lakes High School, his sister confirmed with 10 On Your Side on Wednesday.
“He is really going to be missed. Words can’t describe anything right now, but he had an amazing heart, a contagious smile and the love he showed his family and friends is unmatched,” his sister said.

Police say the shooting in the 2700 block of Elson Green, between Sandbridge Road and Nimmo Parkway, happened just before 4 p.m.
A car that police investigated for several hours was taken away by a tow truck just before 7 p.m.
Police say this incident doesn’t appear to be random and there is no threat to the community. Witnesses told WAVY’s Brett Hall that they saw suspects being arrested on the other end of Elson Green, but police have yet to confirm whether arrests have been made in the case.
