HRS: U.S. Navy Chief Culinary Specialist Juho Lee is Headed to the Defense Warrior Games

PORTSMOUTH, Va. (WAVY) – Chesapeake’s own U.S. Navy chief culinary specialist Juho Lee is headed to the 2025 Department of Defense Warrior Games challenge in Colorado Springs.

Lee will compete alongside over 250 wounded, ill and injured service members from across the military including the army, marines, air force, space force and special operations command. She plans to show Colorado Springs her strength in track, swimming, field events, sitting volleyball, and wheelchair basketball.

Lee joined the Navy back in 2005, inspired by her grandfather’s stories as a merchant marine and fueled by her desire to serve after the 9/11 attacks. After her deployment to Iraq and Afghanistan, Lee found her way to adaptive sports with the help of a fellow team navy athlete and said it gave her the confidence to compete again.

From Chesapeake to the world stage, let’s cheer on Chief Lee!
