PORTSMOUTH, Va. (WAVY) – After more than 14 years of service at Norfolk Naval Shipyard, Senior Electronics Technician, Larry Pendleton, is retiring, and he’s going out in style! A beloved Pendleton, being a member of Code 950, had a major impact on the yard. His outstanding contributions led to the implementation of a new emergency response communication system for Naval sea systems command. And his name will echo, as the innovative technology has been named in his honor: “The Pendleton system. “This life-saving system allows first responders to communicate effectively in-hull, pier-side, and off-site during emergencies onboard submarines. Not only was he a changemaker on the yard, but also within his military family. His coworkers describe him as a one-of-a-kind teammate and say his legacy at NNSY is undeniable.
The Hampton Roads show proudly congratulates Pendleton for his well-deserved retirement and we thank him for his years of dedicated service.
