HRS: Miles of Honor

PORTSMOUTH, Va. (WAVY) – Every year, a 250-mile run takes place in Fort Story, Virginia to honor fallen service members. The run takes over four days to complete, and it ends at Arlington National Cemetary.

At every mile, there is a “hero marker,” where runners stop for ninety seconds to honor a service member and present their family with a flag.

Over 30% of the participants of the ten core runners were from Joint Base Langley Eustis, giving both their body and hearts to a greater cause.
