WILLIAMSBURG, Va. (WAVY) – The Virginia Musical Museum and Virginia Music Hall of Fame will celebrate the grand opening of a newly expanded section on Saturday, March 8.

This exclusive event will welcome museum members, VIPs, Hall of Fame inductees, and members of the press.

Highlighting the event will be notable attendance from musicians including Bill Jenkins, the Virginia Mountain Boys, and Russel Williford, who is renowned as Gene Vincent’s lead guitarist.

Additionally, Nashville recording artist and Blues Hall of Fame Ambassador Leroy “Bluesdog” Falconi will join the festivities. The grand opening marks a significant expansion for the museum, which has introduced three new displays showcasing Virginia’s rich musical heritage.

Among the exciting updates, the museum’s board will also announce the induction of three new members to the Virginia Music Hall of Fame: Jason Mraz, John Jackson, and Ernest Stoneman. Personal items from both Mraz and the Jackson family will be on display, adding a personal touch to the gathering.

Attendees will be treated to a lunch at noon, followed by guided tours of the museum’s new exhibits, allowing visitors to immerse themselves in the vibrant history of Virginia’s music scene.
