NORFOLK, Va. (WAVY) — Country music fans are descending on Downtown Norfolk Memorial Day weekend for the 21st annual Patriotic Festival.
The three-day event is the only country music-centered festival in the Hampton Roads region and it also puts a spotlight on the areas ties to the military.
Outside on Scope Plaza each day from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m., visitors can see U.S. Navy Police dog demonstrations, try their skills on the U.S. Marine pull-up bar or check out two LMTV’s from the U.S. Army National Guard.
Inside Scope, headliners Old Dominion, Riley Green and Jordan Davis will take the stage each night.
“This has been a good thing for Norfolk because we bring in visitors from all over the state North Carolina, Maryland, D.C. area,” said Ira Agricola, founder and president of the festival. “Twenty-first year, we’re really excited about it. We’ve got a great lineup this year and a great chance to honor the military and their families and the veteran community here in Hampton Roads.”
In 2024, the festival resulted in $2.7 million in economic impact for Norfolk.
