HAMPTON, Va. (WAVY) – Do you enjoy acting while also getting delight out of scaring people? Here’s an opportunity just for you. Auditions for the Hampton Horror Tours are set for Thursday, September 4, from 6:30 to 8 p.m. at the Hampton History Museum.

This annual event invites participants to bring historical and mythological figures from Hampton’s past to life through interactive walking tours.

Marie St. Clair, the playwright and director, will lead the auditions and provide training in scare and acting techniques. Participants will perform cold readings and engage in interactive storytelling, where the audience serves as a jury to decide the fate of the characters portrayed.

The tours will feature new stories and characters, offering surprises and a glimpse into the grisly side of Hampton’s history. The 60-minute tours will include stops at spooky locations such as the St. John’s Church graveyard and other haunted sites along Queen Street and Downtown Hampton.

The Hampton History Museum, located at 120 Old Hampton Lane, will host the auditions and tours. Free parking is available in the garage across the street from the museum. For more information, interested parties can contact Marie St. Clair at 757-715-2672 or the museum at 757-727-1102.

This year’s Hampton Horror Tours are scheduled for Saturday, Oct. 25, and the week of Oct 28-31. Click here for more details
