PORTSMOUTH, Va. (WAVY) – Stepping or step dancing is a form of percussive dance in African American culture. The performers use their entire body to create rhythms with dance to tell a story. Recently, the Iconz youth step team out of Chesapeake was named back-to-back national champions when they competed against 12 teams from around the country. They currently have open enrollment for the month of July for grades 4-12 until August 1. Find out more in this week’s Reck on the Road.
