HRS: Meet the Coast Guard Military Child of the Year Ian Lindo

PORTSMOUTH, Va. (WAVY) – Ian Lindo’s father, Lieutenant Michael Lindo served for 27 years on active duty in the Coast Guard before retiring, and that military service left a lasting impact. Ian credits his life as a military child with shaping him into the young man he is today. The I.C. Norcom High School senior was just named Operation Homefront’s 2025 Military Child of the Year for the Coast Guard. Learn what sets him apart and how he’s making a big impact on the community in this week’s I Am Hampton Roads.

Ian will now join the other six Operation Homefront Military Child of the Year award recipients from across the country at a special gala in DC later this month. There, they will receive their awards as well as prizes including 10-thousand dollars each, a laptop computer and other donated gifts.
