ViIRGINIA BEACH, Va. (WAVY)– Princess Anne Middle School is the home of the E.D.G.E Program. E.D.G.E. stands for Explore, Design, Generate and Engineer.
This year, the students involved in E.D.G.E were part of a service learning project benefiting Operation Smile. Lisa Trojnar, a seventh grade teacher at Princess Anne Middle School, implemented a design time idea and the middle schoolers ran with it.
They formed teams to create items of comfort for Operation Smile patients and their work really paid off. They were able to present them to representatives from the organization last week. Gifts such as puzzles, finger puppets, blanket buddies, whirly gigs and 3 dimensional cars were handmade by the teens.
These gifts of comfort will be handed out to patients at Operation Smile missions around the globe.
