PORTSMOUTH, Va. (WAVY) — The non-profit organization, “Chesapeake P.E.A.R.L.S. Inc.“ joined The Hampton Roads Show to talk about their upcoming Black History Month gala and scholarship event. Rasha Shankle and Jasmin Hines discussed their passion for providing financial assistance in order to promote education and literacy to students in the Hampton Roads area. Their event aims to honor Black businesses and leaders, featuring live music, a silent auction and a scholarship giveaway of over $30,000 to local students Though this event is sold out, those without tickets can still donate to the cause by texting 1908 to 53555.
