While we’ve had cool temperatures lately it still hasn’t really felt like Fall. Many of those cool days we either had rain, or it was very humid, or we had very strong winds. However, over the next couple of days we’ll definitely have some dry air, and eventually the winds will lighten up.
having said that, a cold front moved into the region. It will keep dropping to our south today.

Dew points have already dropped to the 40s and 30s in the region.

We’ll have northerly winds through the day. They will gust to around 25mph with higher gusts near the shore.

High pressure is also building into the area. So we’ll have full sunshine for most of the day. However, the strong north breeze will keep our high temps down in the low-mid 60s this afternoon.

Tonight the winds will slacken quite a bit. With clear skies expected, that will allow temperatures to drop big-time. Overnight lows will be in the 40s.

There will be a couple of 50s near the shore. There may be a couple of upper 30s far inland. I don’t expect frost though. This is about the time of year (on average) that we get our first frost in those inland/northern locations.

Tomorrow will be a nice day but a cool day. We’ll have lots of sunshine again, but high temps will be in the mid 60s.

There will be less wind, but there will still be a light breeze out of the north. We will still be very dry with dew points in the 30s.

We’ll stay dry on Saturday with more sunshine. High temps will rise to near 70 degrees.

It should be a very nice day! If you like warmer temps, then we will warm up a bit on Sunday. We should be dry during the day, but a weak cool front may bring a few showers Sunday night into Monday. I will say that the chance for rain has been trending downward lately. So we’ll see.
In national news… I had a link recently to this story, but I don’t think it has had enough coverage. A decayed typhoon moved across the north Pacific. It turned into a post-tropical system that hit parts of Alaska as a monster storm. Winds were up to 100mph for a time. It created a lot of flooding and damage. Dozens were rescued. Thousands have been displaced. Here is a recent article with more information: Alaska flooding.
Things are quiet in the Atlantic. Tropical storm Lorenzo has fallen apart.
