Ok the title may be a bit dramatic, but I feel like this upcoming “break in the humidity” will be a big deal. We’re not there yet. Today a cool front is moving into the region, but it will take a while before the drier air really sinks into the area.

We started off with muggy conditions, but the humidity should be moderate by the end of the day. Then we’ll have 3 days with moderate or even pleasant levels of moisture. Having said that… A cool front will slowly sink south today. There will be a few showers and storms forming along the front.

The showers and storms should be scattered, but a couple of isolated heavy showers will be possible. The focus should shift south/southwest by the evening, but some isolated showers may linger in Hampton Roads.

High temperatures will be a bit tricky. They will aim for the upper 80s to near 90 by the early afternoon.

However, temps may fall a bit later in the afternoon. Winds will be out of the north. They will run at 8-12mph. They will be out of the northeast by the end of the day.
Tomorrow the forecast gets simple. The front will stall out to our south. High pressure will build in an a little more. There will be a steady breeze out of the northeast. We’ll have fair skies with only 1 or 2 stray showers coming in off of the ocean. That will be due to that onshore breeze. However, I’d say the chance is only 5-10%. Low temps will be in the 60s and 70s. High temps will be in the mid 80s.

You’ll notice that temps will be spiking to our west. Some areas will be near 100 for the temps. They will probably be up to about 110 for the heat indices. Luckily we’ll be in the break. The dry air will be what makes tomorrow very enjoyable. Dew points will be in the 60s. That’s not Super Dry. However, it will be so much better than the last couple of weeks.
We’ll have more dry weather Wednesday and Thursday. High temps will be in the 80s.

The heat that will be out to the west will finally pour back in on Friday. High temps will be in the mid 90s. The heat index will probably be back up around 105 degrees. Geee… Greeeeaaaaattttt!
