(WAVY) — The snow has been falling around 1 inch per hour across the Hampton Roads and North Carolina regions. Snow is also still falling, but not as heavy for the Middle Peninsula and Eastern Shore.
8 p.m. update: Looking at the live radar, and the latest high resolution weather models. This snow should come to an end around midnight for most, but it could last until 2 a.m. for parts of the Southside. I believe the heaviest snow (1 inch per hour) will continue to fall until 10 p.m., then it will taper off after that point.

At the same time, the area of low pressure is deepening offshore which is making this winter storm much stronger. This is the reason our totals should jump to 5 to 8 inches for most areas.
Here’s a look at snow accumulations around the region as of just before 6 p.m. Wednesday.

Depending on how that very heavy band develops, we could see the totals map shift farther south!
