Lots of folks may have woke up this morning wondering where the sun was.

Cloudy Skies This Morning

We are expecting clearing today, but it will take a little more time.

The area of low pressure that caused the recent rain and wind is finally heading out to sea.

Regional Weather Map

High pressure will slowly edge in from the west. Plus, much drier air will push into the region through the day. This will allow for clearing skies. With the sunshine this afternoon temps should be able to warm up to the low 70s.

Forecast Temps Today

However, the breeze will still be up a bit out of the north. It will gust to 20mph (which isn’t too bad), but there will be a few gusts to 25mph near the shore.

Wind Gusts Today

All-in-all it will turn into a nice day. Especially as we dry out. By tonight a cold front will slide into the area from the north. This will sink to our south by tomorrow. Winds will increase behind the front. They will run out of the north/northeast Thursday with gusts to 25-30mph. There will be a few gusts to 35mph near the shore.

Wind Gusts Tomorrow

It will definitely be a cool and breezy day. High temps will only be in the mid 60s.

Forecast Temps Tomorrow

The dew points will drop to 40 or lower. Wow!

Muggy Meter

At least we’ll have lots of sunshine tomorrow, and this will be from start to finish.

By Thursday night the temps are going to drop big-time. Low temps will be in the 40s solid. There may even be a few upper 30s in some far inland locations. Then we’ll have highs in the mid 60s on Friday with lots of sunshine.

Temperature Trend

Saturday’s weather looks great! We’ll have lots of sunshine with a cool morning and a comfortable afternoon. We should be dry most of Sunday, but some isolated showers will be possible late in the day.

The tidal flooding has definitely gone down. The King Tide is definitely ebbing. However, the persistent north breezes will allow for some nuisance tidal flooding to continue for a while.

High Tide Forecast

None of this is from the tropics. Tropical storm Lorenzo is barely hanging on. It is far over towards the central/eastern Atlantic. It will fall apart within the next 24 hours.
