We are finishing out the month of February with some bouncing temperatures that’s for sure. Over the course of the month we had some warm and cold stretches. Due to these extreme differences we ended up averaging out to close to average. Take a look.

We also ended up with a wet month. We were over 3 inches above the average. Look at all the days when we had some type of precipitation.

Some of these days were snowfall. So the liquid equivalent was given. Yesterday we ended up warming up to the upper 70s. This was still shy of the record in the low 80s, but it was way above average. Last night a cold front slid into the area and created a line of rain showers (as expected).

It was a light soaking rain over most of the region, but it was heavy for a time over the Southside and Peninsula. That’s where we picked up about a quarter to a half an inch.

There was less rainfall to the north and south of that area. Today the cold front has sunk to our southeast.

We’ll be dry with lots of sunshine. However, it will be much cooler. High temps will be in the upper 50s this afternoon with a couple of 60s inland and south.

Course this is actually pretty good for this time of year. That’s actually just a bit above average. By tomorrow the winds will pick up and shift out of the southwest. We’ll have increasing clouds, but we’ll have enough sunshine to push our high temps back up to near 70 degrees.

Meanwhile colder air will be building over the Great Lakes region. This will spill to the south by Saturday night. We’ll have a strong cold front enter the area. We’ll be mostly cloudy Saturday evening with some isolated showers possible.

There won’t be much rain, but there may also be a little drizzle at times. Temps will then crash on Sunday. Lows will drop down to the 30s. High temps will only make it to the low 40s.

That will be a huge drop in temps. We’ll stay dry and chilly on Monday with highs in the 40s.

We’ll warm up through next week getting back to some 50s and 60s. We’ll also have more rain by the middle of the week. Have a good weekend!
