Sunshine looks to make a return this weekend after a few days of clouds, mist, and cool weather. With the added sunshine high temperatures will reach the upper 70s to around 80 degrees. However, winds will remain breezy out of the northeast keeping the rip current risk high and boating conditions a bit messy.
For those looking to take a trip to the beach make sure you bring the sunscreen and stay up to date with the ocean conditions with your local lifeguards. Waves will generally be in the 2-4 foot range this weekend but with northeast winds the added chop could make swimming unsafe. Try targeting Sunday for a swim since winds will be much calmer.
As for boating, the Bay will be the place to be as wave heights are not likely to be as high as the ocean.
Now with strong onshore winds, the surf will be very disorganized especially for Friday and Saturday. This short period wind swell could provide for a few fun rides as long as you don’t mind a bit of chop. Sunday during the morning and late afternoon will likely be the best times to target as winds drop off.
See you in the water!
