PORTSMOUTH, Va. (WAVY) — Interning at WAVY has been an exciting experience so far. I’m truly enjoying my time here, and each day brings something new to learn. Being in this environment has pushed me to think more creatively and explore different sides of the media industry that I hadn’t considered before.
One of the highlights of my time here was spending a day with the sales team. It gave me a new perspective on how the business side of broadcasting works and how strategy and creativity go hand in hand. It was interesting to see how much collaboration and planning goes into making sure content connects with the right audience and it’s definitely something I’ll take with me moving forward.
I can honestly say that I’m learning something new every single day. Whether it’s behind the scenes in production, observing how the newsroom runs, or just chatting with people from different departments, I feel like I’m constantly soaking up useful knowledge and gaining inspiration for my future career.
