CHESAPEAKE BAY, Va. (WAVY) — A Chesapeake Bay Bridge-Tunnel police official said a body was found floating in the Chesapeake Bay Sunday morning.
Officials say a mariner reported finding the body around 11:30 a.m. CBBT police confirmed the body found was the driver of the tractor-trailer from Friday’s crash on the bridge.
VMRC recovered the body from the water about seven miles from where the tractor-trailer ran off the bridge into the Chesapeake Bay.
Another body was recovered from the tractor-trailer after officials were able to pull it out of the water on Saturday.
CBBT police have identified both of the truck’s occupants. The driver was 32-year-old Jervone Rakeem Hall of Bridgeville, Del. and the passenger was 29-year-old Christopher Fenner of Seaford, Del.
The circumstances surrounding the accident are still being investigated.
