NEWPORT NEWS, Va. (WAVY) — A Newport News man was injured after two women were shot Monday night on 22nd Street.

Police say the call for the shooting in the 800 block of 22nd Street in Newport News came in around 10:30 p.m.

Officers arrived to find two female victims with gunshot wounds not considered life-threatening. Police did not specify the age of the victims.

Both were taken to the hospital for treatment.

Around 1:50 a.m. Tuesday morning, police arrested 24-year-old Tristin Overby in connection with the shooting and charged him with two counts of malicious wounding, damage to property and shooting into a public place.
