PORTMSOUTH, Va. (WAVY) — A Chesapeake man has been charged with shooting and killing a Portsmouth man earlier this month, police say.

Portsmouth police said 33-year-old Rodney J. Anderson was shot in the early morning hours of Aug. 4, and driven to Bon Secours Maryview Medical Center. Anderson was pronounced dead at the hospital.
Police on Tuesday said the suspect was identified as 32-year-old Jermel M. Roscoe
Portsmouth detectives, a Virginia Beach police fugitive unit and Virginia Beach SWAT found Roscoe late Monday night and arrested him without incident.

Roscoe is charged with first-degree murder, use of a firearm in the commission of a felony and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon.
