HAMPTON, Va. (WAVY) – An overturned truck on Interstate 64 eastbound near the Hampton River Bridge in Hampton caused significant traffic delays Tuesday afternoon.
VDOT traffic cameras showed several emergency vehicles on the scene and vehicles getting by very slowly.

At the same time, VDOT reported a multi-vehicle crash on I-64 near the 664 interchange. All westbound lanes were closed Tuesday afternoon, and a detour was in place at Exit 264 while crews worked to reopen the road to traffic.
The cause of the accidents and whether anyone has been injured remain unclear at this time.
Motorists are advised to avoid the area if possible and seek alternate routes to minimize delays. Updates will be provided as more information becomes available.
