(WAVY) — The U.S. Department of Agriculture’s Food Safety and Inspection Service (FSIS) announced a recall on Monday for some pulled pork sandwich products from the company E.A. Sween.
According to a statement by FSIS, they are recalling more than 125,000 pounds of pulled pork that may be contaminated with plastic.
The following item produced on various dates between January 13, 2025, and October 15, 2025 is being recalled:
According to FSIS, the products subject to recall have an establishment number “EST. 2451” inside the USDA mark of inspection. They said the items were shipped to retail locations nationwide, including the Department of Defense.
The problem was discovered after the establishment said they had multiple people find pieces of plastic in their barbecue pulled pork sandwich product.
After investigating, E.A. Sween Company determined the plastic came from the gallon plastic barbecue bottles used in production.
If you have already bought, but not consumed the product, you are encouraged to throw it out or return it to the place where you bought it.
When available, the retail distribution list will be posted here.
