BERTIE COUNTY, N.C. (WAVY) — Deputies with the Bertie County Sheriff’s Office are asking for help in finding a missing man.
According to officials, Brenden Lee Armstrong was last seen at the Hoggard Mill Road fishing pier. Deputies are also urging boaters in the Cashie River and Albemarle Sound to pay special attention, saying Armstrong may have entered the water in a green kayak between Sunday, Oct. 26 and Monday, Oct. 27 from the pier.
On Tuesday morning, the Bertie County Sheriff’s Office announced a search for Armstrong. BCSO added that surrounding county law enforcement and state personnel will be helping with the search near the Hoggard Mill Road fishing pier.

The sheriff’s office said a portion of the road will be closed during the search.
Armstrong is described as five-foot-four inches with blue eyes and brown hair. A photo of Armstrong can be found below:

Anyone who has noticed a white Jeep SUV parked at the fishing pier between Sunday, Oct. 26 and Monday, Oct. 27 is urged to contact Investigator Dozier at 252-325-7386.
