HAMPTON, Va. (WAVY) — Hampton Police say a man is dead following a shooting in Hampton Friday night.
When officers showed up to the 2200 block of Kecoughtan Road, they found the body of an adult male on the ground in front of the Beauty & Fashion Beauty Supply store, police Sgt. Reggie Williams said.
The man, identified as 35-year-old Newport News resident Terrence L. Williams, died at the scene, police say.
Several people on scene told 10 On Your Side that the victim cuts hair at Bigg’s Barber Shop and was going to get dinner when he was shot.
“I heard four quick shots and then heard a bunch of people screaming and running,” said the clerk at the Come & Go Convenience store, who asked not to be identified.
He said Williams often came in to buy things with young children.
The Hampton Police Division is asking for public help identifying the suspect or suspects involved in the homicide.
The motive and circumstances of the shooting are still under investigation.
