Returning starters: 6 on offense, 7 on defense

Maury lost multiple star players to the major college ranks including the likes of LeBron Bond (Indiana), Kendall Daniels (South Carolina), Ari Watford (Clemson) and Au’Tori Newkirk (UNC).

Newkirk was the starting quarterback and and his replacement might be split between two players — sophomore Domo Everette and versatile junior Matt Williams.

Coach quote: “It’s a new group. Everybody is worried about the talk of Autori Newkirk’s gone. Well, we said that when Fred Johnson and Peyton Jones left, too. We said the same thing when Keandre Lambert left, too, and we kept going. It’s exciting to be out with this new group.
