NEWPORT NEWS, Va. (WAVY) – An adult man died early Tuesday morning following a motorcycle crash in which the driver struck a curb, according to the Newport News Police Department.
Officers say that accident occurred around 2:30 a.m., in the area of Colony Road and Warwick Boulevard.
Preliminary investigation revealed the driver, 29-year-old Tony Daniels II, was traveling southbound on Warwick Boulevard at high speeds before losing control of the vehicle, according to police.
After losing control, Daniels II struck a curb south of the intersection of Sharon Drive and Warwick Boulevard, throwing him off the vehicle, according to police. He was later transported to the hospital, where he died as a result of his injuries.
The investigation into the incident is still ongoing.
A GoFundMe page has been set up to raise money to help Tony Daniels’ wife and children. According to the GoFundMe, Tony was the father of three children.
