GLOUCESTER, Va. (WAVY) — A man was sentenced on Tuesday to over four years in connection with drug trafficking and firearms charges.

According to court documents, on Jan. 16, 2024, 37-year-old Daniel Shaun Smith met up with another individual, where Smith delivered a shotgun to a buyer. Another person also delivered a stolen handgun to a buyer while in Smith’s presence.

Two days later, on Jan. 18, Smith sold another shotgun, as well as ammunition, to a buyer during a controlled purchase. During the transaction, Smith asked if the buyer wanted to use methamphetamine together, court documents state. The buyer said no to the offer.

On Feb. 8, also in a controlled purchase, Smith sold the same buyer from the previous transaction a sawed-off shotgun, handgun, 1,971 rounds of assorted ammunition, four rifle scopes, a Tactacam scope and 1.62 grams of methamphetamine. A separate individual sold the buyer 3,000 rounds of ammunition.

As a result of the controlled purchases, Smith was sentenced to a total of four years and nine months for dealing firearms without a license and possession with intent to distribute methamphetamine.
