PORTSMOUTH, Va. (WAVY) — This Cinco de Mayo, May 5, Drive Safe Hampton Roads (DSHR) is offering locals a safer means of transportation, with 757 Sober Rides.
“If you are going to celebrate on Cinco de Mayo, the message is simple: plan ahead,” said President of Drive Safe Hampton Roads Bob Clinebell.
The Drive Safe Hampton Roads initiative comes in response to the 373 crashes Virginia faced last year on Cinco de Mayo. Among those crashes there were four fatalities, two of which were alcohol related, according to data from Virginia DMV.
DSHR’s Cinco de Mayo 757 Sober Ride promo code will be posted at 6 p.m. on Monday, May 5, 2025. If you’re 21 or older, you can take advantage of this offer until 3 a.m. on Tuesday, May 6, 2025. The special code covers up to $15 off a single Lyft ride home. If the ride costs more than $15, the user is responsible for the difference.
To claim and use a code, riders must:
- Download the Lyft app
- Visit www.drivesafehr.org/757-sober-ride to get the 757 Sober Ride promo code
- Enter the promo code into the ‘payment’ section of the Lyft app
- Once the code is claimed in the app, that ride is counted against the number of available rides
All rides must originate and end in the Hampton Roads area.
This offer is valid for new and existing Lyft users, while supplies last.
