PORTSMOUTH, Va. (WAVY) – The annual Air Power over Hampton Roads air show took place over the past weekend at Joint Base Langley-Eustis. What was planned to be a normal state of the art air show turned into a celebration of life as they honored stunt pilot Rob Holland who was set to perform, but passed away upon arrival to the air show.
To honor him, participants of the air show engaged in “The Piano Burn,” a fighter pilot tradition to honor Rob’s life and legacy. Everything went accordingly with the rest of the show, with crowds enjoying the sights and sounds of the epic planes doing their routines.
