PORTSMOUTH, Va. (WAVY) – Despite its name, the Virginia International Tattoo has nothing to do with body art. It is an annual performance where military bands, drill teams, dancers, and musicians come together to put on a memorable performance. Tattoo music director Seph Coats and pipe major Ross McCrindle joined HRS to discuss the upcoming event.
There will be more than 800 performers, both military and civilian, all paying tribute to the United States Navy, Army, and Marine Corps on their 250th birthday. The performance aims to remind viewers of the sacrifices of those serving our country in order to maintain our freedom.
The performance will take place April 24 to April 27 at the Norfolk Scope Arena. For more information on the performances or ticket sales, go to vafest.org/tattoo.
This segment of The Hampton Roads Show is sponsored by Virginia Arts Festival.
