HERTFORD, N.C. (WAVY) — A man is in custody following a hit-and-run that killed 24-year-old Maci Marciano, of Perquimans, on South Edenton Road Street in front of Perquimans County High School in Hertford Tuesday evening, Sgt. Beau Daniel with the North Carolina State Highway Patrol said.

Michael Revels, 61, of Hertford, has been charged with felony hit-and-run in connection to the woman’s death, Daniel said. He also was charged with having no insurance and having fictitious tags.

The State Highway Patrol had been looking for a burgundy Cadillac Escalade, which Daniel said the man was driving when he allegedly struck the woman, who was on a skateboard, around 8 p.m.
