Road closures, parking information for Shamrock Marathon Weekend

VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. (WAVY) – It’s that time of the year again — the temperatures are warming, lawns are slowly turning green and the annual Shamrock Marathon Weekend is returning to the Oceanfront.

The weekend of races will last from March 14-16, and includes a marathon, half marathon, 8K and different challenges. Following each race will be a “post-race celebration,” with Yuengling Beer and live music.

Friday, March 14
- Sports and Fitness Expo — 11 a.m. through 7 p.m. at Virginia Beach Convention Center
Saturday, March 15
- 8K Start — 7:30 a.m. at 30th Street and Pacific Avenue
- Post Race Celebration — 8 a.m. through 12:30 p.m. on the beach at 28th Street
- Leprechaun Dash Start — 10:30 a.m. at 31st Street on the Boardwalk
- Final Mile Start — 11 a.m. at 31st Street and Atlantic Avenue
- Sports and Fitness Expo — noon through 5 p.m. at Virginia Beach Convention Center
Sunday, March 16
- Half Marathon and Marathon Start — 7:30 a.m. at 42nd Street and Atlantic Avenue
- Post Race Celebration — 8:30 a.m. through 4 p.m. on the beach at 28th Street
