VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. (WAVY) — The city treasurer’s office in Virginia Beach will be temporarily closed for renovations.

The office, located at 420 Birdneck Circle, is getting additional indoor space for customers, a wheelchair accessible station, and general security improvements for residents and staff.

“The limited size of the space meant that if there were more than two people in line at a time, the queue would extend outside the door,” said City Treasurer Leigh Henderson. “With these changes, we can comfortably accommodate more people inside at a time, and our residents do not have to stand out in the elements.”

The city treasurer’s office will close on Jan. 6-10 and reopen on Monday, Jan. 13.

While the Beach Office is closed, all other city treasurer locations will remain open Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., to serve residents.
