NEWPORT NEWS, Va. (WAVY) – The City of Newport News is set to celebrate their first All-American City honor on Saturday, along with their second annual Made in Newport News event.
The event is scheduled to take place at City Center at Oyster Point from 4-9:15 p.m. A parade will start at 4:30 p.m. and the event will end with the city’s first-ever drone show, starting at 9 p.m.
During the event, attendees will be able to experience live music, a DJ, food trucks and the All-American City Village showcasing 40 local businesses, organizations, crafts and family-friendly activities.
The All-American City Award is an annual award given out to 10 communities across the United States for their roles in tackling issues and strengthening relationships with businesses, nonprofit organizations and government leaders.
