GREENVILLE, NC (WITN/WAVY) — Some State Employees’ Credit Union (SECU) customers are complaining of money missing from accounts and the SECU admits a glitch in their system may have caused the financial error.
SECU provides processing services for Local Government Federal Credit Union (LGFCU), North Carolina Press Association Federal Credit Union (NCPAFCU) and Latino Community Credit Union (LCCU).
Due to an internal processing error that occurred Wednesday night, some member accounts for those credit unions are reflecting an inaccurate online balance for Thursday’s business date.
SECU said they are not aware of any impact to SECU member accounts, but added balances of the affected accounts will be corrected during Thursday’s processing.
SECU released a statement saying, “We apologize for any inconvenience. Affected members of LGFCU and NCPAFCU may call 888-732-8562 for assistance and affected members of LCCU may call 919-595-1800.”
“I’m glad they are on top of it, because it gives some people, you know, comfort to know that, but you know at the same time, it’s somebody’s money, so they are not looking for that money to be messed with, so the whole situation is just crazy,” SECU customer Shekia Downing tells 10 On Your Side.
