Groovin’ by the Bay

Sunday night concert series at Mill Point Park, June 9 to August 25 from 5-8 p.m.

The summer concert series is back every Sunday night. Listen to bands playing a variety of music including beach, pop, oldies, Motown and rock. This weekend, The Michael Clark Band featuring Tracy Clark will be perform.

Free parking is available at the Hampton University garage next to the park. There will be food vendors on-site. While pets are allowed in the park, the City of Hampton recommends for this event they are left at home. Visitors are encouraged to bring lawn chairs or blankets to sit comfortably. 5th Annual Coastal Virginia Bluegrass & Brew Festival 

June 7-9 at The American Theatre

The three-day festival celebrating bluegrass music and brews is back in Hampton. See bands, Damn Tall Buildings, Chicken Wire Empire and Jacob Jolliff Band, take the stage! Breweries and cideries will be participating in this years event including, St. George Brewing Company, Sly Clyde Ciderworks and Smartmouth Brewing.

Harborfest

June 7-9 at Town Point Park and along the Elizabeth River in Downtown Norfolk

The 48th Annual Norfolk Harborfest will take place this weekend. The longtime maritime festival attracts local, regional and national guests. Some of the featured events include the Parade of Sail, the Harborfest Fireworks and the Harborfest Drone Show. Seawall Music Festival

Friday, June 7 and Saturday, June 8 at High Street Landing

Parks After Dark

Summer program at Williams Farm Park, Thursdays-Saturdays from June 6 to August 24 at 6-11 p.m.

The summer program at Williams Farm Park returns this summer. On Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays from June 6 to August 24. Parks After Dark offers live music, movies, lawn games, food, video game tournaments and more. Additionally, health and educational resources will be available.

Launched in 2023, the program was established to help curb youth violence in the city by providing a safe space for family-friendly activities during evening hours when fewer activities are available for youth and teens.

North American Sand Soccer Championships

June 7-9 at the Virginia Beach Oceanfront from 6th to 33rd Streets

It’s the 30th year of the North American San Soccer Championships (NASSC). Over 800 amateur and professional teams will play right on the sand. The three-day festival features almost 2 miles of competition space. Find a spot on the sand to watch the games as international and national players compete. There will be a vendor village, food and beverages, and more.
