WILLIAMSBURG, Va. (WAVY) — Twenty years ago today, Italian supermodel and actor Fabio Lanzoni, yes the Fabio, was hit in the face by a goose at Busch Gardens Williamsburg.
On March 30, 1999, the amusement park was celebrating the opening of their “Apollo’s Chariot” roller coaster. Fabio was brought in to promote the event.
During the ride’s first run, Fabio, seated in the front, was struck in the face by a goose. The incident left Fabio with a few, minor cuts.
The goose, however, did not survive.
